Lions fans — are you sitting down? The Detroit Lions are in sole possession of first place in the NFC North after defeating the Green Bay Packers 34–20 to improve to 3–1. I know, I know — it’s only been 4 games. But the hype behind the Lions has never been so strong.

The Lions opened up the game ready to roll — that is after they got past Jared Goff’s early game interception on just the third play of the game.

If there was any doubt that this team was for real, they answered all of those questions Thursday night. They also proved the way they played against Seattle in a loss was more of a fluke than the norm.

Thursday night, both teams had momentum after winning their games on the Sunday before and improving their records to 2–1. Detroit came in after dominating Atlanta 20–6. Green Bay on the other hand had a great comeback win against New Orleans where they were down 17–0 at halftime and won 18–17.

Detroit came out and punched Green Bay right in the mouth. Lambeau Field was throwing boos at their team at halftime as the Lions led the Packers 27–3 at the midway point.
