FULL SPOILERS FOR OBI-WAN KENOBI EPISODE 5 BELOW

Well, that was fun. After a season with a lot of ups and downs for hardcore fans, this episode delivers quite nicely.

The episode starts with a long-awaited flashback on Coruscant during the Episode II era. The camera pans down and we see Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker (with his Padawan braid and all) and we see Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi (along with his glorious Episode II mullet).

Here, they are training in lightsabers and having a duel. Other than the obvious age difference of the actors from then until now, they did a good job making the viewer feel like it came out of the prequel movies. After some dialog and moves, we flashback to the current time and Vader is staring out into space — this was his flashback. He was remembering the training with Obi-Wan.

Vader is on his Capital ship when he comes out of the flashback. He appoints Reva as the new Grand Inquisitor.

Obi-Wan and company are on the run from the Empire, but they were tracked by Leia’s robot, Lola — which Reva altered in the last episode.

Obi-Wan wants to buy everyone more time, so he goes to confront Reva. He tries to find out how she knew who Anakin was. This filled a major plot hole from Episode 2 of the series because most people thought that Vader kills anyone who knows he was Anakin Skywalker.

As many fans theorized, Reva was a youngling at the Jedi Temple when Anakin came and slaughtered everyone. She saw Anakin do it and even was stabbed by him but faked her death. It was a super dark scene because it painted a picture of how evil it all is. Reva and her friends saw Anakin there and thought he was there to help him.
