Detroit Red Wings — The City’s Best Hope

It’s been an awful drought in professional sports in the great city of Detroit. There hasn’t been a championship won in over 5,000 days — dating back to the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals when the Red Wings beat the Pittsburgh Penguins.

It’s been over 3,000 days since a Detroit team has even won a playoff series — that was in 2013 when the Tigers beat the Oakland A’s in the ALDS.
