The Utah Jazz won their game convincingly last night against the defending NBA Champion LA Lakers. Granted, the Lakers are without superstar Anthony Davis, but it was still an impressive showing by the Jazz.

The Jazz currently sits atop of the Western Conference with a 26–6 record, which is the best record in the NBA. They are by far the most impressive team thus far as we near the halfway point of the season. The question becomes whether or not they are a legit contender, or are they just like the Milwaukee Bucks the last couple of seasons?

Milwaukee has…

The dominant performance by Kamaru Usman in his victory over Gilbert Burns at UFC 258 to retain his welterweight title still has the MMA world buzzing. The jab he displayed throughout the fight was absolutely masterful.

Usman immediately called out Jorge Masvidal after the fight. It was a surprising call out since Usman disposed of Masvidal quite easily in July. Granted, Masvidal took the fight on 6 days notice, but it still is a tough sell given that the fight wasn’t close whatsoever. Would a full training camp be the difference for Masvidal to take out Usman? …

There is no single city in the sports landscape that has as little excitement as the city of Detroit has. With the news of Lions franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford being traded to Los Angeles, it signals what probably should have happened a few years ago: a full rebuild.

The Lions are by far the most depressing team in Detroit. While the NFL is probably the easiest league to go from worst to first, the Lions have history to show that they’re probably not going to do that. They are starting with an entire overhaul in their front office and coaching…

A blockbuster trade was done on Monday between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Colorado Rockies. Except, only one side got a ‘blockbuster’ deal. Nolan Arenado, who spent his entire career in Colorado, is now heading to the Cardinals.

The Rockies are sending $50 million along with him. Why, you ask? No one really knows. It would be one thing if they sent the money to get higher prospects in return, but the best guy they got from the Cardinals system was ranked 9th. That’s from a team that has the 18th best farm system, so it’s not like they…

Matthew Stafford has been traded to the Los Angeles Rams after spending his entire career with the Detroit Lions. It marks the first big trade of 2021. The LA Rams were just in the playoffs a couple of weeks ago, but got eliminated by the Green Bay Packers in the second round.

The Lions on the other hand have just hired a new GM and head coach and are going for yet another full reset. Stafford and Detroit mutually agreed to part ways earlier this week. …

News broke Wednesday that the Houston Rockets were trading superstar James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets. Usually moves this big happen in the offseason or at least closer to the trade deadline. It was inevitable that Harden would be out of Houston after he’s been making comments about it for months. In today’s NBA, the players have all the power. For better or for worse. If a player wants out of their city, they typically get their wish.

Now James Harden reunites with Kevin Durant after all their years apart when they were on the Oklahoma City Thunder together. Back…

“Super” Wild Card weekend has come and gone and there are plenty of storylines that have formed from it. Tom Brady and Drew Brees keep on rolling on despite their old age while Phillip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger both leave the field with their futures in question. Two of the best stories revolve around some of the younger quarterbacks featured this weekend. Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen.

Coming into this season, there were some who believed it was a do-or-die situation in Cleveland for Baker Mayfield. After an impressive rookie season, Mayfield’s sophomore season left many wondering if the year…

Finally, the Detroit Patriots, I mean Lions, are moving on from head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn.

Matt Patricia was 13–29–1 since taking over the job as head coach. Reports over the years on his coaching style were not pretty and it was clear that the locker room didn’t respect him since day one when he tried to copy Bill Belichick. Here’s the secret to be like Bill Belichick: you have to win like him first before you’re able to run your locker room like a dictator.

Bob Quinn has had even more time in Detroit as…

The Michigan Wolverines lost yet another game they were favored in, this time to an Indiana Hoosiers team that they haven’t lost to since 1987. The Hoosiers look better than they have in a long time, but that still doesn’t excuse the Wolverines losing to them, especially in the fashion that they did which was a final of 38–21.

Michigan’s defense has been deteriorating over the last few years. They have been slowly getting worse each year under Harbaugh. For the first few years, the Michigan defense looked completely solid, until they played any type of ranked team, of course…

Here we are again — at the end of yet another week and there is still no agreement in place for the MLB and the MLBPA. What started as negotiations months ago to make sure the game was brought back safely in the wake of COVID-19 has turned into nothing but greed.

While every other major sports league in America has been able to figure out their financial situation, the MLB keeps kicking the can down the road. …
